Preparation Course for ÖIF B1 Exam

As part of the German language course for the ÖIF exam in Vienna, each participant must learn to express their thoughts simply and accurately in the German language.

Simultaneously with vocabulary, the B1 level grammar is also taught in the ÖIF German course for foreigners.

What does the Preparation Course for ÖIF B1 Exam offer?

Anyone applying for permanent residency in a German-speaking country or wanting to obtain Austrian citizenship must demonstrate their German language skills at level B1. The German Course B1 helps achieve this goal. Upon completing the ÖIF German language course B1 at our school, you can successfully pass the standardized Integration Test of the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) B1.

Course Schedule and Teaching Materials

Preparation courses for ÖIF exams take place four times a week, Mondays through Thursdays, and last for 2.5 hours each day. The duration of each German course in Vienna is 2 months.

Group German courses involve instruction in smaller groups. Group size: from 6 participants.

The German Course B1 requires fluent language proficiency in almost all everyday situations. These include:

The Content of Integration Course B1

The Integration Course German B1 in Vienna includes the following topics:

The issue of gender relations is one of the most controversial. In the class, potentially conflictive questions are discussed and resolved. Family life is also addressed. Participants express their opinions on the mentioned topics and argue their points of view. The question of gender equality and household duties of men and women is raised. Course attendees learn about attitudes toward gender issues in Austria and other countries.

2. Digital World

Each participant expresses their attitude towards digitalization. Participants discuss the advantages and disadvantages of online shopping. They talk about which items are suitable for online shopping and which are not. During the discussion, the issue of the internet's opportunities for self-education is addressed. By answering these questions, participants form their own opinions about digital technologies. Popular opinions from the media are also explained at the end of the topic.

3. First Impression

The main theme builds on the question of how important it is to make a good first impression. Participants answer this question, express, and argue their opinions. Companies and entrepreneurs, and their behavior towards their employees, are discussed in class. Participants write feedback on job offers. The theme also includes practicing how to describe people and their behavior.

4. Then and Now

This theme focuses on discussions about the past and the present. Participants write short biographies. The program also includes reading and understanding texts on historical topics. Participants compare the conditions of the past with those of today. The issue of the development of public transport is discussed as a prominent example of technological progress.

5. Job Market

During the course, possible conflict situations in the workplace are discussed. Questions about salaries and business success are addressed. Participants discuss this topic comprehensively, simulate situations, and try to find compromises. The topic also includes aspects related to work, the workplace, and the team. Participants learn the terminology for currencies and types of businesses, words and expressions about money and income.

6. Wishes

Considerable attention is given to questions about what participants want to achieve and what is important to them in life. They answer the questions and express their wishes. The main part of the topic focuses on discussing material values. Each participant talks about things and objects they want to acquire. In addition to the main discussion, consumer rights are addressed. Participants learn how to terminate a purchase contract.

7. Travel and Transport

Participants plan their vacations and discuss their expectations about the upcoming holiday. In addition to vocabulary for describing countries, landscapes, and sights, participants learn to understand news about traffic. The discussion also includes the topic of car insurance and vehicle tax. Course participants also talk about possible situations in public transportation.

8. Fresh Start

Throughout the course, possibilities and risks of self-employment are discussed. Everyone tries to find their own answer to the question of how difficult it is to become self-employed and earn a good income. Participants talk about the challenges on the way to their dream job. The topic of starting one's own business is also discussed. Course participants practice how to apply for a loan.

9. Nature and Environment

Within this topic, course participants focus on discussing environmental issues. Participants talk about the importance of waste separation and recycling. A significant emphasis is placed on the energy industry and its impact on the environment. The topic also includes characterizing the animal and plant world. Participants mention their favorite plants and animals and explain their choice.

10. Health

Within this topic, the importance of health is discussed. Health is emphasized as the most important value in everyone's life. Participants learn vocabulary important for hospital admission and hospital stays. Adequate attention is given to discussing accidents and their causes. Course participants learn about the specifics and advantages of the Austrian healthcare system.
